Day 18-Philipsburg to Butte MT

It was such a good ride today, I was with Joe and Bott and we were cruising the whole ride, even up the long climb which was not bad at all. Climbing up was actually my favorite part of the ride, it was this road that snaked around the sides of this small valley region with sharp curves and bends, and a creek running down the center that came out of a hole in the mountain at the top, it was so fun. After that the rest of the ride was easy, just cruising down hills and flats mostly, we kept our speed really high 20 to 30 on flats and slight down hills and around 40 when we could take advantage of a good hill. Had to stop a few places along the way to get some pictures of lakes with snow capped mountains in the distance and a heart shaped treeless section on the side of a mountain, it had to be man made I think. Ended up making the full 60 miles with 2 hours to spare compared to our rack point, we arrived at the YMCA of Butte by 12:40.
With all that extra time we went straight to the hot tub to relax before our friendship visit at 4 with BSW Inc. They host monthly dinner and dance parties for all their clients. When we walked in they had 3 really long tables with places set and we were shocked, we hadn't been to a friendship visit that big and sure enough we filled every seat and had to add more tables and put people on benches on the side to fit everyone, we well out numbered for the first time this trip. They had tons of food for us then we put the tables and chairs away and cleared the whole room for an epic dance party, to top it off they had a live band! I was blown away, and they do this every month! We danced until we wore ourselves out. Before we left they had one last surprise for us, they made shirts for all of us, they are really nice, they have a stitched design that has the M mountain in Butte and a landmark of the old mines in the area. This was such a fun friendship visit. I almost forgot we also got another treat, one of the stories that has been passed from team to team every year is about this magic lotion one of the BSW employees makes and gives to the team. It is called Cindy's Naturals Skin Balm and from past cyclists it heals everything, dry skin, cuts, road rash, bruises, scars and more, I'm putting it to the test on my knee tonight.
Tomorrow we have a long day, 105 miles tp Bozeman, that should be pretty chilly too but we have some great climbs to warm us up apparently, nothing to it but to get on the bike and go. We also had a mail drop today so everyone has way too many snacks, cookies and chips so our crew chief lunch will be very delicious.
