Day 30-Cheyenne WY to Fort Collins CO

One of the best rides we have had so far. Coming out of lodging there was a little confusing on directions so we all got piled up at a stop sign going to the main road which was entertaining, our crew chief confused everyone with the directions but we figured it out and hit the roads hard. We were crusing up this slight hill for about 10 miles to the Colorado border that everyone has been looking forward to for so long and the excitement to get to Fort Collins was what gave us the motivation to ride hard today.  There was a very clear transition in road conditions from Wyoming to Colorado, we hit the border and suddenly were on beautiful roads. From when we started to right before we hit residential streets in Fort Collins we were averaging 21.6mph, that was insane for us. David who is from here was moving faster than we have ever seen and my pace line was trying to catch his line since we crossed the border and we didn't get a glimpse of him until mile 50 out of 60, and I thought we were moving fast. It was a blast, we were hanging out, talking and also screaming through these roads.
We ended the ride at out lunch which was being sponsored by Raising Cane's here, it was perfect. The owner let all of us order any combo we wanted so clearly we all got the biggest one and stuffed our faces with fried chicken. It was a great way to end an amazing ride. David's brothers from the CSU chapter met us there as well and we got to meet them. Unfortunately we had to ride to lodging but it was only a few mileuaway, still quite the struggle with all that food in us.
Later on we had a friendship visit with the city of Fort Collins adaptive recreation department who had some horse shoes to play as well as adaptive bocce ball which was a lot of fun, very similar to the normal game but use ramps to roll the ball to the target.
After the friendship visit David's friends came and picked us up to go to a couple bars he had in mind and we had a great time meeting brothers from the chapter and and his friends, they were great to hang out with. At one of the places they had a corn hole tournament that I played in with Craig from the CSU chapter and we ended up getting 2nd place! I had no idea I would be good at that.
Tomorrow is a really big day for us. First off, we are going to play wheelchair rugby at our friendship visit which is a super fun game, secondly a friend of David's and brother here is doing a ride along with us, and last and absolutely not least, the man himself, Bruce Rogers, the inspiration for The Journey of Hope, and his son are going to be riding with us to Boulder tomorrow and the Denver the next day. I am unbelievably excited to meet him.
