Day 51-Saint Louis, day off the bike

The day started off with a phenomenal breakfast at the hotel. We went straight from breakfast to our first friendship visit which was with TASK who focuses on recreation and social activities for kids and adults with disabilities. We met them at their incredible facility for a BBQ and lawn games. They had boccia ball, washers, corn hole, a putting green and an accessible basball field. It was a blast playing all the games with them. When I wasn't playing games I sat with Larry who was such a funny guy. We talked for a while and I helped him get food, the burgers were amazing, best we have had at a friendship visit so far. Larry know a lot of music so he had tons of questions about what kind of music I like and what bands and artists, he is more into classic rock himself. It was awesome to meet him.

After TASK we went to the Children's Hospital to volunteer. We helped clean their playsets and got to play with some of the kids at the hospital. The cleaning was not so fun but when we went to the play room I played games with Dontrelle and 2 other little boys who were so much fun. We built big walls out of these mega lego pieces and the 3 of them took turns knocking it down, the smiles on their faces were priceless. Other people were drawing, playing cards or playing rock band. Before we left they gave us a full tour of the hospital which was amazing. They really focus on getting kids out of the rooms doing an activity any way they can. A few of the kids were playing with us from their beds. I thought that was a great philosophy. They also had a therapeutic pool and kitchen that kids and volunteers cook meels in once a week.

We went back to the hotel to relax for a bit after that but went out again for dinner at a long time sponsors house, the Stuckle family.Alex the son rode in 2010, the daughterwas the one who set us up at the Kappa  Delta house, Jay the dad is on the Pi Kapp Properties Board and Kristy has been involved since the beginning and did all the cooking. We had an amazing meal with mind blowing desserts, chocolate creme pie and Mexican cheese cake were the best in my opinion.

After we got back a bunch of us went back to TheGGateway Arch to get some cool pictures and hang out which was fun. Evan and I really wanted to check out the view from the rooftop bar on the hotel so we went back to look at that, it was so awesome, we could see right into the stadium and all of downtown Saint Louis, plus the bar itself was very fancy.

Tomorrow we cross into Illinois for just a day, an eeasy 80 miles through flat farmland.
