Day 58-Cincinnati OH to Lexington KY

Started the morning with a sponsored breakfast by a Pi Alpha and his daughter right at lodging. They picked up just a ton of McDonalds breakfast sandwiches and hashbrowns. Tasted good but probably not the best choice 30 min before a 95 mile ride. We had another crew ride along today which cool, Ryan who joined us in Denver as crew rode today. He actually does a lot of riding back home so he is not new to this and as expected he crushed the ride even after not riding for weeks. Right out of lodging we got to go across a Cincinnati landmark the Purple People Bridge which is exactly what the name saysit is, it crosses the Ohio River putting us in Kentucky on the other side, it was cool to see downtown and the river from the bridge. We had a sponsored roadside lunch too which was really nice, it was a Pi Alpha and a couple of his friends. I rode with Evan, Scott and David again in Matt's van. We had a great time, just never stopped laughing. At the end of the rise we had one more turn to mark and no one wanted to sit in tje van and wait there so we decided to just drop one of us at the turn so everyone else could get to lodging. We decided who that was going to be by a rock paper scissors tournament between the 4 of us, sadly I lost and sat in a camp chair for a while waiting for everyone to pass, it started to rain too and I didn't have anything but a t-shirt, luckily it passed quickly but one of the sponsors from lunch drove by and stopped to give me an umbrella which was really cool. A cop car also stopped and asked some questions but after I explained what we were doing they thought it was cool and just moved on.

Our lodging is great because it is at the organization that we are doing a friendship visit with which is CAKY, Community alternatives in Kentucky. We had dinner and a party with them. They had dancing and some carnival games and a photo booth which was a blast. I danced for a while and stepped aside to take a break and noticed someone playing basketball outside and went out to check it out. I met Cynthia who was shooting hoops with one of the staff, she only shot from one spot and always that spot. She would get a few steps then launch it over her head to the hoop, she was pretty accurate too, made a few shots in and almost every single one was close within the 10 min we were out there. The staff out there said she actually broke the backboard one time. Once in a while she would smile and toss the ball to me to let me shoot one, the rest of the time I just got the rebound and passed it back to her. It was really fun and then ahe just took the ball and walked inside, I went back in and spent the rest of the time at the photo booth with some guys and had clients come take pictures with us, one girl Ashley was hilarious she laughed so much with us we were dieing.

The rest of the evening was fun, we watched Band of Brothers and then made a late night White Castle run because a bunch of us have never had it.

Tomorrow is a day off and we actually have a good amount of free time afyer lunch to relax and hang out.
